ASHLEY CORDERO

Ashley (she/her) is as a first generation American descended from Cuban immigrants. With experience at the Federal Public Defender, Colorado State Public Defender, and Metro area Municipal Courts, Ashley has dedicated her legal career to indigent criminal defense. Prior to her legal career, Ashley managed LA:RISE, an employment program for individuals returning home from prison and who had experienced homelessness in Los Angeles. Understanding the impact of criminal cases on individuals’ careers, homes, and families, Ashley launched a holistic services legal partnership to better serve clients in the program.

While attending the University of Denver, Ashley worked as a legal researcher on the second edition of Crimmigration, served as the inaugural Equity Editor & Senior Editor of the Denver Law Review’s online journal, and published an article on the impact of COVID-19 on individual’s speedy trial rights. Ashley joined Power Law as a contract associate in April 2023.

Ashley believes in partnering with her clients to tell their story to defend against their legal cases.
